Sura 90, Al-Balad (The City)

لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ Nay! I swear by ..

وَأَنتَ حِلٌّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ And you shall be made free from obligation in this c..

وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ And the begetter and whom..

Read more

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ فِى كَبَدٍ Certainly We have created man to be in..

أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ Does he think that no one has power..

Read more

يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا He shall say: I have wasted mu..

Read more

أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ Does he think that no one..

Read more

أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عَيْنَيْنِ Have We not given him..

Read more

وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ And a tongue and..

Read more

وَهَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ And pointed out to him the two conspic..

Read more

فَلَا ٱقْتَحَمَ ٱلْعَقَبَةَ But he would not attempt the up..

Read more

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ And what will make you comprehend what the uphil..

فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ (It is) the setting free o..

Read more

أَوْ إِطْعَٰمٌ فِى يَوْمٍ ذِى مَسْغَبَةٍ Or the giving of food in a day..

Read more

يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ To an orphan, having rel..

Read more

أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ Or to the poor man lying in..

Read more

ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ Then he is of those who believe and charge one another to show patience, and charge one another to show c..
